About the Product

Diatomaceous earth is a naturally porous, silica-based stone formed from the fossilized remains of ancient marine organisms. Its microscopic honeycomb structure makes it exceptionally absorbent β€” it pulls water off dishes on contact without any coatings or chemicals.

It's food-safe, naturally odor-resistant, and used in kitchens across Japan for centuries.

Yes. Our stone is 100% natural, food-safe, and FDA-tested. There are no synthetic coatings, chemicals, or adhesives involved β€” just pure diatomaceous earth held together with a food-grade silicone spine.

The stone's microscopic pores act like tiny straws, pulling water in on contact through capillary action. Water disappears in under 60 seconds β€” no towel, no puddle, no waiting.

The ROLLET Stone Drying Mat measures 24" Γ— 16" β€” large enough to handle a full sink's worth of dishes, small enough to store easily when not in use.

Every order includes:

  • 1 Γ— ROLLET Stone Drying Mat (24" Γ— 16")
  • 4 Γ— matching stone coasters
  • 1 Γ— fine sanding pad (for surface refresh)
  • Care & use instructions

Yes. The stone is 100% natural, sourced from a small mine in the American West and milled by a family-owned partner in Napa. Our packaging is fully recycled cardboard with soy-based inks β€” no plastic wrap, no foam.

And since a well-cared-for mat can last a decade or more, you're replacing years of paper towels and worn-out silicone mats.

02

Care & Cleaning

Rinse the mat under running water and let it air dry β€” that's it. The stone naturally resists odor and bacteria, so you don't need to scrub it after every use.

For deeper cleaning, use the included fine sanding pad to gently refresh the surface. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners.

We recommend avoiding soap. The stone's porous surface can absorb soap residues, which may affect its performance over time. Plain water is enough for regular cleaning.

Dark liquids like coffee, tea, or red wine can stain the stone if left to sit. If a spill happens, rinse it off quickly.

For stubborn stains, use the included sanding pad to gently sand the top layer β€” the surface will refresh completely, like new.

No. Dishwasher heat and detergent can damage the stone and the silicone spine holding it together. Hand rinse only.

No. Because the stone dries so quickly and doesn't hold moisture, it's naturally resistant to mildew, mold, and bacterial growth β€” unlike towels or silicone mats that stay damp.

03

Using the Mat

Anywhere on your counter next to the sink. The non-slip silicone base grips smooth surfaces without sliding β€” stone, wood, tile, or laminate all work.

No. The base has a soft silicone finish designed to grip without scratching. It's safe on stone, quartz, wood, tile, and laminate surfaces.

Yes. The stone is heat-resistant up to 400Β°F (204Β°C), so it doubles as a trivet for pans straight off the stove.

Absolutely. Our customers use it as:

  • A plant & herb tray (absorbs drip water)
  • A home bar mat (soaks up cocktail spills)
  • A bathroom vanity tray (for toothbrush cups, soap)
  • A boot dryer by the front door in winter
